Center fireplace in glazed and hand-painted terracotta, signed GUERRIERI Murano. ORIGIN Italy PERIOD 1930s BRAND Guerrieri Ceramiche Murano In 1930 Giulio Guerrieri, coming from Castelli a few years earlier, took over the premises of Fondamenta A. Navagero 76, on the island of Murano in Venice, of the former 'I.C.A.M.' and founded the 'Guerrieri Ceramiche Murano' factory, starting a production of good quality furnishing and tableware ceramics sold at reasonable prices. In 1934 he called his brother Archimede, an expert decorator, to work at the factory and in 1937 the company took the name 'Giulio e Archimede Guerrieri'. Production was significantly slowed down by the war but in the early post-war years it restarted and the third brother Alfonso also joined the company. In 1963 Giulio died and his place was taken by his son Mario, in 1964 Alfonso died and the following year the factory was forced to close. The company's production consists of everyday and furnishing objects and decorative majolica panels made in modern and traditional styles, as well as ceramics with a rustic flavor and copies of antiques. Among the most important collaborators of the factory we remember: Umberto Bellotto, Giuliana Bogo, Giuseppe and Novello Rosso, Umberto Soldà and the well-known painter Emilio Vedova. ORIGINE Italie PÉRIODE ANNÉES 30 MARQUE Guerrieri Ceramiche Murano En 1930, Giulio Guerrieri, arrivé de Castelli quelques années plus tôt, reprit les locaux de Fondamenta A. Navagero 76, sur l'île de Murano à Venise, de l'ancien "I.C.A.M." et fonda l'usine "Guerrieri Ceramiche Murano", commençant une production de céramiques d'ameublement et de table de bonne qualité, vendues à des prix raisonnables. En 1934, il fait appel à son frère Archimede, expert en décoration, pour travailler à l'usine et, en 1937, l'entreprise prend le nom de "Giulio e Archimede Guerrieri". La production est considérablement ralentie par la guerre, mais elle reprend au début de l'après-guerre et le troisième frère, Alfonso, rejoint également l'entreprise. En 1963, Giulio meurt et son fils Mario prend sa place. En 1964, Alfonso meurt et l'année suivante, l'usine doit fermer ses portes. La production de l'entreprise se compose d'objets d'usage courant et d'ameublement, de panneaux décoratifs en majolique réalisés dans des styles modernes et traditionnels, ainsi que de céramiques au goût rustique et de copies d'antiquités. Parmi les collaborateurs les plus importants de l'usine, on peut citer : Umberto Bellotto, Giuliana Bogo, Giuseppe et Novello Rosso, Umberto Soldà et le célèbre peintre Emilio Vedova.
