The magnificent porcelain figurine “The tailor of Count Brühl on the goat” is one of the greatest among all the creations of the masters of the manufactory Meissen. Johann Kendler performed it brilliantly: incredible detailing, delicious underglaze painting and witty parody composition, confirming the highest status of the manufactory as a brand striving for perfection. The brand of the manufacturer Meissen corresponding to the period 1860-1924. The model number of the numbers in the test is 59, 171. Historical note: In the 1730s, the administrator of the Saxon king Count Bruhl was the most fashionable person at court. The tailor of the count, who was the author of such elegant outfits, was very proud of himself and believed that the dandy laurels belong primarily to him. He was so proud that one day he asked the count to arrange a dinner with the king himself. Bulle, naturally, was ashamed to ask about this, but came up with a cunning trick. The count instructed sculptor Kendler to create a tailor figurine that could be placed on the royal dining table and thereby fulfill the tailors request. The great Meissen master approached the matter with humor and portrayed a conceited tailor riding a goat, thereby creating a caricature composition that became one of the hallmarks of the manufactory.
