Founded and directed by architects Ângela Frias and Gonçalo Dias, MO-OW is a Portuguese design company based in Matosinhos, in the northern region of the country. MO-OW strives to create contemporary designs that draw on traditional, artisanal processes and techniques.
MO-OW furniture is carefully manufactured by hand in a small studio using generations-old, Portuguese woodworking techniques, with an end result that is both modern and classic.
Frias (1977) and Dias (1977) are both trained architects—the former graduated from ESAP in 2004; the later from University Lusiada of Porto in 2002—which carries into their simple, minimalistic designs that aim to integrate beauty with total functionality.
